Hey guys!
I am really stuck in deciding between MUA and UMHS. I would appreciate any help/advice you guys have to offer. My opinion on the two based on my research thus far:
MUA
pros:
*NY/FL approval
*has better chance of getting Title IV funding
*has better chance of getting Cali approval
*been around longer- good residency stats
*follows Saba's curriculum- which is changing starting Jan 2015 (not sure if that is a good thing)
cons:
*have to stay on the island sem 1-5
*clinical department not as organized/strong as UMHS
*new dean/administration not that great
Am I missing anything?? Can anyone (especially current MUA students) list more pros and more cons please!
UMHS:
pros:
*on island sem 1-4
*great sem 5 clinical prep
*good residency stats
*great clinicals with little to no wait time
*owned by Ross family
*great campus/facilities
*good curriculum
cons:
*no NY/FL/CA approval
That's all I can think of for now if anyone else would like to add on to this list I would really appreciate it! I have to make my decision very soon and can't seem to chose between the two. Also, after adding the tuition and fees both schools are very similar in price- MUA is slightly more but doable.
Thank you for your input!
