Using Macbook Pro on the Island

I currently have a macbook pro which I have been using for a while and am very used to it. I am in dilema of switching since the suggested supply list says to have either have dell or lenovo since there is technical support available on the island for them. Could someone currently on island please say their input about using macbook. Having compatibility wise for the powerpoints etc.
