Just saw the MUA 2020 match. I think it has 80 or so matches. Can any current students let us know what you think of the results?

I don't see any EM, Anesthesia and mostly primary care.

Would you say those are respectable results based on your experience at the school?

Do MUA students have to take CCSE before taking STEP2?

Is it true that MUA students have to take a school-administered exam called the Comprehensive Clinical Science Exam (CCSE) BEFORE being allowed to take STEP2?

This just seems like another way for the school to weed the students out. Can anyone confirm this?

Don't Go To MUA If You...

I think MUA is a decent school if you couldn't get into an USA school or the other Caribbean schools are out of your price range.

Just remember YOU have to be the one motivated to go on this journey.

You mom, sister, dad, grandmother cannot be the ones who want you to become a doctor. YOU have to want to become a doctor.

I guarantee you if YOU do not want to be a doctor YOU, not your granny, mom, sister, dad, will be the ones burdened with debt.

How many people on the MUA 2020 match list FINISHED the program in four years?

Can any CURRENT student interpret the 2020 match list and give me an idea of how many of those people matched after four years only? MUA must be a small school so I would think you would know who matched and who didn't. I heard a rumor that the match list includes people who started the program 8 years ago.

I really need this information to make a decision before I apply because I don't want to enroll in any program where students are entering the match multiple times or flat out not completing the program in four year or five years max. I mean it's just not worth it if that is the case.

Also, how come none of those residencies is impressive? Some people here are saying MUA is a great school but that's not reflected in the quality of the residency matches. Why don't MUA students, since MUA is such a great school, match into some competitive university-based programs?

Can a current student outline the steps required to match into a residency at MUA

For those of us who are not too familiar with Caribbean medical schools, can a current student clearly list what steps need to be completed while attending MUA before you are able to match into a residency and actually become a doctor? i.e. list every single exam you need to pass and the time frame required.

I'm asking this question this way because I think too many people are answering that "MUA gives students an opportunity and it is up to the student to succeed." That's a cop out.

While you're at it, please answer my last post as well which asks how many people actually graduate the program in four years.

MUA is deleting threads. DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL!

Can any CURRENT MUA student talk about the 2021 MATCH list...

Let me reiterate...CURRENT STUDENT....yes, don1, that means NOT YOU!!!

Anyway, I was told that a lot of matches from this year are after 6 and 7 years at the school. That is just not good progress because medical school in the USA is 4 years.

Any input for the perspective student? MUA says they are a world-class institution but they cannot graduate their class in 4 years and that concerns me.

Did anybody match from MUA for 2022? Where is the damn list...it's been a month?

Where is the MUA 2022 match list? The match was like a month ago. Every school has put up their lists and MUA has not and that can only mean that people are trying to obtain residencies outside of the match and they are waiting for all of those to come in.

If the school is a legit school, we should get a match list within 48 hours of match day.

As for me, I got accepted to an osteopathic school for August, 2022!

Don't give up and waste your time going to the Caribbean when you can get into a legit stateside program where your outcome has more of a guarantee and you will have access to a better clinical education and residency options.

My advice, spend some money on test prep and get the numbers you need on the damn MCAT. I personally, did a TPR guarantee course and then I invested in some tutoring and I got a 510. That literally opened up all the doors I needed.
